Describe the vessel as it is
Start with the yacht’s type, approximate length, current location and maintenance history. Current photographs help the first conversation, but they cannot reveal every defect or establish the condition of concealed systems. Make a separate note of recurring faults and previous repairs.
Separate priorities from preferences
Distinguish work needed for operation from comfort upgrades and appearance changes. Discuss technical concerns with the responsible specialists. A prioritised list makes it easier to compare a limited maintenance period with a more extensive refit.
Define what a proposal includes
Ask for the work scope, material assumptions, access requirements and responsibilities for removal and reinstatement. Agree how new findings will be documented and how changes to cost or timing will be approved. A target completion date should be reviewed against the actual scope and procurement needs.
Prepare for the first conversation
Send the vessel details, photographs, intended works and your preferred schedule. Alfa Marine can then discuss what needs inspection before a project-specific proposal can be prepared.
